We are the Andersons
est.2024
Melissa, Sarah, and Drew. We all live in a beautiful, beginner, and hopefully bountiful homestead in Upstate New York. We’re in year one, and documenting our adventures, experiments, and our journey at large!
Sarah
Forest Witch Wife
Mom and wife balancing a bustling life working full-time from home in the Health Information Management sector. I’m also a part-time student, working towards my cancer registrar certification to further my expertise and impact in the healthcare field.
When I’m not immersed in work or studies, you can find me indulging my passion for photography through my small side business. I love capturing the beauty of love in all its diverse forms, colors, and shapes.
In my downtime, I enjoy cozying up with video games, diving into a good book, or simply savoring moments at home. I’m also a practicing witch and herbalism student, constantly exploring new ways to blend magic and nature into my life.
Thanks for stopping by and getting to know a bit about me!
Drew
Meat dude
Hello there. My name is Drew Anderson and I am half the dynamic duo in charge of this blog and a third of the terrific trio that is our family. I graduated from University of Vermont with a BS in environmental studies where I minored in food systems.
I started my career as a butcher working on a small farm doing whole animal butchering of pigs. I worked in Co-op grocery stores, and big box chains chopping meat. I have a passion for cooking, agriculture, and animals (both as pets and food).
I like digging in the dirt, watch the seasons turn, and make tasty food for people I care about. I like teasing my wife about our fat cats, doing battle with our dog, and pretending to be terrified when my daughter hides a dangerous stuffed animal under my pillow. I live the good life over here and I look forward to putting into words the adventures we all have.
